Introduction to Digital Fabrication
'PHYS S-12' Portfolio

What is This?

Hello, and welcome to my Introduction to Digital Fabrication portfolio! My name is Faraz Bhuiyan, and I made this portfolio to display my work for the Harvard Summer School class PHYS S-12. Think of this website as a collection of "what I did" and "why I did it" webpages that sums up my overall class experience.

A Little About Myself

I'm currently a 17-year old rising high school senior living in Naperville, Illinois. My hobbies include playing the piano, playing volleyball, fishkeeping, CAD modeling, 3D printing, and playing video games.

I've been interested in the engineering field all my life; from doodling airplanes and buildings as a child to building prototypes of my designs now, my interest in the STEM field has grown significantly throughout my life. I chose to take this course to broaden my knowledge of various engineering fields and gain hands-on experience with rapid prototyping.

In college, I will be majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in computer science. In the future, I hope to work at a large tech company as a product designer or create my own engineering-related startup.

The Course

What is PHYS S-12? It's a 7-week course from Harvard Summer School about rapid prototyping - integrating engineering, physics, computer science, and art into one cohesive class. The topics covered include coding with various languages, laser cutting, 3D modeling and printing, electronic circuit design, programming microcontrollers, molding and casting, and more.

The dedicated pages for each assignment and the final project are linked below.
